Preserving the Edgar Farm

The Edgar Farm, a parcel of land occupying eighty acres, lies in the heart of East Marlborough Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The Land Preservation Trust of the township made a daring and creative purchase of the existing Edgar Farm in order to preserve the land and the buildings, creating development easements and then reselling the land in two parcels thus preserving the viewshed and the character of a keystone property. These photographs were made after the house had been vacated and prior to settlement of the sale to the new owner. They were made over the course of several weeks. I had access to the property because I was secretary of the Trust.
